Responsible Supply Chain Management - Impact beyond Compliance
Assisting companies in the forestry, timber and rubber sector that are committed to sustainable development, reliable and fair supplier relationships and long-term compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. EUDR, CSDDD) in their own supply chain.
New standards and regulations such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Supply Chains (EUDR) require all market players to revise their corporate sourcing strategy.
Increased responsibility for the situation in the countries of origin of raw materials and products is already encouraging companies to define new sourcing policies and to engage more intensively with producers and suppliers.
Companies recognise the need for risk reduction, lasting improvements in production conditions, but also the advantages and opportunities of long-term and fair business relationships with their suppliers. However, the actual implementation of these targets often fails due to a lack of concrete project ideas, networks and the necessary specific expertise on site.
We support our clients in defining clear and realisable sustainability targets for their value chain and, if required, plan and implement customised and effective projects at the level of their supply chain, such as
- Materiality assessment, identification and prioritization of risks and impacts
- Joint identification of fields of action and effective measures
- Training and capacity building, e.g. on labour and environmental protection, social standards and other binding norms
- Elaboration and Monitoring of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
- Promotion of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) techniques and certification schemes in the forest and rubber sector
- Support/initiation of cooperatives and farmer associations (smallholder schemes)
- Conceptualisation and implementation of projects for the valorisation of ecosystem services (biodiversity, soil and water protection, carbon storage)
- Stakeholder Dialogue and Corporate Citizenship)
In this, we profit from our experience in the forestry, timber and rubber sectors and benefit from our large network of forestry and agricultural experts, auditors, certification bodies and research institutions.
